The constellation Orion....Lee and I both have this tattooed on the inside of our wrists.
A girl sits in her astronomy class, her junior year of high school, in San Jose, California. She has a boyfriend, and pays no attention to the boy that sits next to her, although she takes note of his blue eyes and southern accent that is so out of place for San Jose. Years go by, the girl foolishly marries the boyfriend...and divorces. She swallows her pride and moves back home to the embrace of her parents. She goes to college, babysits and works part time at a Motel-6. One afternoon....six years from when she sat in the astronomy class, and now in Washington...the boy from astronomy walks in to Motel-6...after some funny confusion, they determine they knew each other from class, and he goes to the room he rented. Later he returns, and asks the girl out to dinner. They eat Mexican food, her favorite and something new to him...as they talk about the last few years she realizes, even if this is nothing...I have found a friend. She found more than a friend, she found her soul mate, the one that made the heartbreak of the past, worth it to get to know this man. Six weeks after that first dinner and movie together, they married...in a tiny chapel on a windy night. They thrive on each other, and create a family...two beautiful boys. They manage the distance and moves created by his job and have truly shown that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Twenty one years later.....her heart still flutters when she hears him come home. They still celebrate their first date with Mexican food. Above all, they are still in love!!!
HAPPY 21st ANNIVERSARY LEE!!!
