We are slowly getting settled in. I thought I would share a few pictures of the rooms that are done. The bedrooms are still a work in progress. I worked on the spare room today...it was floor to ceiling when I started this morning. Now, it is about 1/3 full...but I can visualize it with a bed in there now. We still had much of Mason's things with us, so we have elected to store that, as well as our holiday decorations. I promised Lee a garage he could use, and even though he still has to share it with the Corvette, he has set up a nice area for playing guitar...which he and Mason have utilized already. He also has a perfect spot for his motorcycle to sleep at night and be worked on when the time comes. Our house is small, but our yard is huge...Lee is out there mowing down the weeds that seem to love to grow in this heat. It is 30 degrees hotter here than Eureka was today...ugh!!!
This is the dining room. I am finding that since the house is small, we have repurposed some pieces of furniture, For example, Mason's old dresser is now a buffet...and holds Bird's cage and convienently some other kitchen items.
My tiny, but much adored kitchen. I am growing to like the open pantry...but I think I will cover it, as there is a little girl that comes over and likes to drag all the food out. The fridge is huge...and I love it!
The much worried about living room, is actually our favorite room!! The couch fits perfectly, and the colors make it very cozy and perfect for watching a movie. See how awesome Lee's shadowbox looks on the mantel!!! I love that there is a small basket of toys for Mahoney! I am sure it will not be a small basket for very long.
Speaking of my favorite little girl! I love her little scrunched up face she makes! I took this picture last week when we had a much appreciated random rainy day! She was making faces at us...she also tried eating a little bit of bark and a handful of hydrangea flowers. She has been a total delight. We have gotten to babysit quite a lot...it can be exhausting keeping up with her, but we have loved every minute of it. I love Mason and Arrielle showing up out of the blue and us all sitting down to eat and watch a movie! It has been awesome so far, unpacking is exhausting and my shoulder aches a little at the end of the day...but I am loving every minute!!
